band saw blades made from high quality carbon steel with a flexible back make them ideal for both contour and straight cutting. Each band saw blade is flash welded and precision ground for virtually seamless performance. Special attention is given to maintaining equal spacing between the teeth at the weld which results in bump free cutting:
Flexible carbon steel back allows the blade to run at higher speeds and resist blade fatigue.
Can be used on both vertical and light duty horizontal band saws.
Appropriate for cutting easy-to machine ferrous, low alloy or non-ferrous metal, solid wood and various composition board..
Slower cutting speeds are required when cutting metal, consult your machinery manual for guidelines.
Body
is the band material without teeth and is made sufficiently pliable to tolerate the constant flexing cycles.
Tooth or Teeth
do the cutting and on most blades are hardened for durability.
Tooth Set
is the bend of the teeth and is measured at the widest point. The more the set, the wider the kerf.
Gullet
is the space between the teeth that holds the saw dust during the cutting process.
Pitch
is used to describe how many teeth per inch of blade and is usually referred to as Teeth per inch (TPI)
Kerf
is the width of the saw cut.
Width
is the distance from the front to the back of the blade.
Hook Tooth
blades have a 10° hook angle, deeper gullets than both Standard and Skip Tooth blades. This provides for a more aggressive cut requiring less feed pressure and are ideal for resawing.
